The creation of my company was inspired by my grandpa who passed away mid-December 2020. I wanted to do something for my family, as well as for myself, by creating something memorable. I get a feeling of happiness and love when making the candles which is what I want my customers to feel when receiving and using their candles.

That is where the inspiration for the name, Butterfly Effect, came from; taking something small and creating a powerful and memorable impact in someone's space, emotions and lives. Each picture I add to a candle jar puts a smile on my face and I hope it will do the same for each of my customers.

The products used are natural and vegan. The candles are made from soy wax and blended essential oils for the fragrances. The glass jars used for the candles can be reused for either another candle or a food or stationery jar once cleaned; the wooden lid makes this convenient. The wicks are cotton-based and I will also be introducing wooden wicks which make campfire-like crackling sounds when lit; very calming. The packaging is eco-friendly, recyclable and safe for reuse.

I am Chanel Francis, born in 1994; the year of the new South Africa. I am a young, vibrant enthusiast who started a natural, eco-friendly custom candle gifting company.

I am focused on making local, handmade and vegan products that also release an amazing and memorable scent. I am passionate about keeping our environment and people safe and clean. I am based in Cape Town, South Africa.
